Job Description:
Role Purpose
Lead the digital transformation journey of a fast-growing, multi-generational enterprise by designing and executing a practical, ROI-driven tech roadmap. Balance strategic foresight with deep hands-on execution across ERP, cloud, infra, automation, and business-aligned POCs.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and implement tech strategy aligned to business goals
- Own end-to-end execution of projects across ERP, IoT, GenAI, infra, and automation
- Deliver business-aligned POCs (e.g., IoT-based remote tracking, internal AI chatbots)
- Oversee ERP implementation (Focus ERP) and manage all tech vendors
- Act as single point of contact for outsourced/contracted tech projects
- Manage cloud and on-prem infrastructure, security, uptime, and cost optimization
- Mentor and upskill internal IT team; build a high-performance tech culture
- Ensure tech governance, compliance, and disaster recovery frameworks
Ideal Candidate Profile
Demographics
- Based in or open to relocating to Chennai
- 12–18 years total experience in product/tech leadership roles
- Preferably an engineering graduate (CS/IT) + MBA or certified enterprise architect
- Stability: Minimum 3+ years average tenure across recent roles
Technical & Functional Skills
- Strong architecture and development background — Java/Node/React/Angular preferred
- Proven hands-on execution of digital transformation, ERP rollout, and automation
- Cloud-native mindset with multi-cloud exposure (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- POC building experience — especially around GenAI, ML, and IoT integrations
- Strong grasp of DevOps, SRE, microservices, APIs, and integration patterns
- Track record of product/solution delivery in SME/manufacturing context
Leadership & Execution Capabilities
- Comfortable leading small IT teams in fast-moving, promoter-led businesses
- Experience as a full-stack developer turned engineering/tech leader is a plus
- Strong business acumen — understands how tech drives operations & P&L
- Prior experience in MES, manufacturing digitalization, or ERP/infrastructure transformation
- Strategic yet hands-on — builds architecture and writes code if needed
