Role Overview:
The Mechanical Engineering team is increasing capabilities to help projects in the various business units of Bechtel Global. Senior Engineer- Static Equipment (Columns and their Internals/Pressures Vessels/Heat Exchangers/Air Cooled HEx/Filters/Tanks/Static Packages) Candidate should have worked as Responsible Engineer with experience preferred in execution of Basic/Conceptual Engineering, FEED, EPCM, EPC modes of execution for Indian / International projects. Experience sought commensurate with the number of years put in the industry. Candidate having design experience in Semiconductor facility, Battery manufacturing and data center will be added advantage.
Selected candidate will report to the Engineer Group Supervisor and essential job duties will include the following:
- Plan and conduct within schedule and cost independent work carried out with sound engineering practices and of desired quality
- Review of Process package for completeness of Process and Mechanical related data
- Review of PFDs, PIDs, MSDs, Data sheets. Commenting/review on the same for completeness
- Develop technical specifications for Equipment/Package. Review of specifications from Licensor / Client / PMC
- Participating in IDC process. Interaction with Engineering disciplines, Clients / PMC, Bidders / Vendors
- Design, preparation of MDS/Engineering drawings, MRQs. Review of Quotes, assessing deviations, raising of TQs, TBEs, MRPs
- Review of VPs
- Interact with Global offices, execute work on workshare mode.
- Help project/proposal activities
- Participating in Value Engineering, design and cost optimization.
- Reviews Coordinate technical issues with other departments on projects including technical and constructability
- Develop standard documentation for use on projects
- Implement/Capture Lesson Learnt
- Resolving Vendor/Site queries. Interaction with Inspection Agencies, Expeditors, other agencies for delivery of Equipment/Packages
- Providing Inputs/Review for Progress reporting
- Helping the project through construction and commissioning phases
- Travel to help activities at other engineering offices, supplier’s works, construction sites
Specific capabilities required for the role include experience in:
- Detail engineering for Static Equipment and related packages for Refinery, LNG, Petrochemical Process Units, Off-site and Utilities
- Knowledge for different Process Licenser specific design requirements and construction features
- Knowledge on Thermal design using HTRI, ability to optimize size and design for S&T HEx, Columns and Pressure Vessels.
- Tanks including for LNG, Spheres, mounded bullets, etc. will be an added advantage.
- Understand various types of materials to be used for different services and review of vendor proposed materials
- Knowledge of Design using ASME Section VIII Div. 1 and Div. 2, TEMA and other helping sections of ASME
- Knowledge of industry / regulatory codes and standards like ASME, TEMA, ANSI, API, BS, BIS, Licensor & Client specifications, OISD
- Hands-on experience on industry software(s): Compress, PVElite, BJAC, HTRI
- Familiarity with model reviews and use of SPR is desirable
- Knowledge of engineering work planning and schedules, related construction practices
- Knowledge of Suppliers capabilities
- Ability to coordinate work with other engineering disciplines and other stake holders
- Broad working knowledge of the principles and practices of executing large projects
Education required (minimum):
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university
- The Mechanical Engineer will work as part of Global Bechtel team and should have basic flair for working with personnel of different nationalities. Should have a good proficiency for spoken and written English language.
- Candidate to mention valid visa available including detail of Type, expiry date. Denial of USA visa earlier at any stage need to be indicated.
