Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Produce engineering deliverables including drawings, material take offs, checklists, deliverables lists, etc. for the execution of storage tank, sphere, and low temperature and cryogenic tank (LT&C) projects.
  • Work closely with RE/Lead Engineer in the production of detailed drawings from design sketches.
  • Utilize 2D and/or 3D CAD to generate fabrication and installation drawings.
  • Generate and check engineering deliverables.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of Tank Business Line detailing standards and practices.
  • Review and interpret project specifications and incorporate in deliverables.
  • Work as part of a team and communicate work status to the team on a regular basis.
  • Provide guidance to less experienced designers on the detailing team.

 

Qualifications:

  • Should have a minimum of fifteen (15) years of detailing experience with flat bottom tanks, spheres, and Low Temperature and Cryogenic Storage tank projects including at least five (5) years in a checker role.
  • Alternatively (15) years of experience in the production of drawings for pressure vessels or other plate structures may be considered.
  • Should have a minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience producing shop fabrication and field erection drawings for storage tanks.
  • Must be able to prepare a complete drawing package with little guidance.
  • Must understand and be able to apply relevant industry standards based on previous experience with API 650/620, ASME Section VIII, ASTM and AWS.
  • High proficiency in use of 2D detailing tools MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
  • Use of 3D modelling tools TEKLA, SolidWorks and SmartPlant 3D would be an advantage.
  • Familiar with Excel, Word and other Microsoft Office tools

 

Education required (minimum):

  • Diploma or Equivalent in Engineering from an accredited college or university.

 

Experience:

Minimum 15 years of relevant work experience
