Job Description:

Essential Job Duties:

  • Performs electrical discipline work which involves the preparation, interpretation or review of calculations, specifications, electrical layout plans including lighting and grounding systems.

  Participates in one or more of the following:

  • ETAP/Smart Plant Electrical (SPEL)
  • Equipment design and development
  • System design, including concept sketches and layouts
  • Preparation of specifications and design calculations
  • Reviewing and checking designs, drawings and data by other engineers or by suppliers
  • Preparation or review of engineering studies and reports
  • Preparation or review of material quantity estimates
  • Uses engineering computer aided design/computer aided engineering (CAD/CAE) tools
  • Prepares letters for replies to vendor correspondence.
  • Monitors project controls within discipline.
  • Reviews design documents of equipment manufacturers or subcontractors of a moderate degree of complexity and prepares comments & recommendations.
  • Assists in preparation of forecasts, quantity take-offs and change orders.
  • Participates in and fosters a work environment that is based upon directness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.

 

Job Knowledge: 

  • 3 years’ experience in Design and Engineering, preferably in an EPC industry. 
  • Technical knowledge of engineering systems, engineering calculations, applications of engineering methods and construction methods and materials, and application of computer aided engineering (CAE)/computer aided design (CAD) tools to engineering problems.
  • Experience of preparing technical specifications, datasheets, material requisitions and vendor print reviews for various electrical equipment 
  • Knowledge of SPEL for preparation of load list, MCC schedule etc.
  • Experience in various electrical layouts like grounding, raceways and lighting etc.
  • Knowledge of Building Power Management which includes controlling and monitoring of Building’s mechanical and electrical equipment such as HVAC, lighting, power systems, fire systems, access control and security systems. 
  • Review of 3D Model in S3D and Autodesk Revit using SPR or Navisworks and be a stakeholder in 30%, 50% and 90% Model Reviews with Client, Vendor and Sub Contractors. 
  • Knowledge of project controls within discipline.
  • Good knowledge of major industry or regulatory standards and design criteria pertinent to the engineering discipline.
  • Basic skill in oral and written communication.
