Job Description:

A DLP (Data Loss Prevention) L2 (Level 2) professional is responsible for implementing and maintaining data loss prevention measures within an organization. Their primary role is to monitor, analyse, raise incident and coordinate with different teams to take incidents to closure.

Analyse include follow security policies, identify potential data breaches or policy violations, take appropriate action and protect sensitive information.

 

Here is a detailed job description for a DLP L2 profile:

  1. Monitoring and Alert Management:
  • Monitor data loss prevention systems and tools for alerts, events and raise incidents for respective policy violations.
  • Review and analyse security events and logs to identify potential data breaches or policy violations.
  • Investigate and triage alerts to determine the severity and take appropriate actions.
  1. Incident Response and Investigation:
  • Respond to data loss incidents, breaches, or policy violations in a timely manner.
  • Conduct thorough investigations to determine the cause, scope, and impact of security incidents.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams, such as IT, legal, compliance and other teams to gather evidence and mitigate risks.
  • Document incident details, actions taken, and recommendations for future prevention.
  1. Security Awareness and Training:
  • Promote data security awareness and best practices among employees.
  • Provide guidance and support to end-users regarding secure handling of sensitive data.
  1. Reporting and Documentation:
  • Prepare regular reports on data loss prevention activities, incidents, and trends.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of DLP policies, procedures, and configurations.
  • Collaborate with management and other stakeholders to communicate security risks, findings, and recommendations.
  1. Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay updated with the latest trends, threats, and technologies related to data loss prevention.
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify potential vulnerabilities or gaps in the existing DLP framework.
  • Propose and implement enhancements to DLP processes, technologies, and strategies.
  1. Policy creation and fine tuning.
  • Hands on experience to create a DLP enforcement policy and i-rule on Ad-hoc .
  • Fine tuning of rule to reduce the false positive.
  • Testing of rule to enhance the effectiveness of rule.

Requirements:

  • 4 + years of experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Knowledge of data loss prevention concepts, tools, and technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
