Job Description:

 

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Prepare design criteria, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Review civil engineering aspects of Solar energy projects including site layout, grading, drainage, access roads, and foundations.
  • Review structural engineering drawings and calculations for Module Mounting Structures, Foundation for Inverter and Transformer and associated design in Solar energy project.
  • Conduct site visits and assessments to gather data necessary for project design.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, environmental specialists, and project managers to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Perform feasibility studies and cost estimates for proposed cost saving value engineering.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and codes.
  • Review and evaluate contractor bids and proposals.
  • Provide technical support during construction and commissioning phases of projects.
  • Perform site inspections to monitor construction progress and quality.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise during project execution.
  • Provide and/or assist technical training.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 4-year degree from an accredited college in Civil Engineering.
  • Preference will be given to the candidate with master degree in relevant subject
  • Experience of working in Solar Energy project shall be an added advantage.
  • 16-20 years of relevant experience is required

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of discipline engineering techniques and design calculation principles.
  • Knowledge of precedents and latest trends in General Civil and structural engineering, the principles and practices of related technical areas.
  • Understanding of Engineering Procedures and design guides.
  • Thorough understanding of the roles played by other engineering disciplines on projects.
  • Understanding of industry and regulatory codes (API, NFPA / OISD, US / British / Euro / Canadian / Australian / Indian) and standards and design criteria pertinent to civil and structural engineering design.
  • Knowledge of constructability and applicable standards and codes including OSHA.
  • Experience of using general purpose design software such as InRoads / OpenRoads, Civil3D, CivilStorm / MicroDrainage / STAAD Pro
  • Proficient in selection of material from constructability and total installed cost perspective.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
  • Should be proficient in using MS office tools.
  • Proven ability of managing a team of engineers and designers will be an added advantage.
