Job Description:

Job Summary:

HVAC detailed engineering activities in mechanical discipline on a project, or designated portions of a project. Has technical responsibilities for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating these assignments. Candidate having design experience in Semiconductor facility, Battery manufacturing and data center will be added advantage.

 

Major Responsibilities:

Selected candidate will report to the Engineer Group Supervisor and essential job duties will include the following:

  • Hands-on experience in Revit modeling for HVAC equipment, sprinklers, fixtures, ducting and piping layout and support details, drawing extraction, annotation and clash checking and resolution of interdisciplinary issues to the level of development (LOD 300 and 400).
  • Experience of interfacing with disciplines like PDP, Architecture, Electrical and Structural
  • Knowledge and hands on experience on S3D would be added advantage and shall be preferred.
  • Should have experience in setting up of the model for MEP.
  • Proficient in creating view templates, schedules, parametric part models, bill of quantities using REVIT MEP.
  • Co-ordination of all services 3D/2D architectural and structural models/layout in NAVISWORKS.
  • Assist in the preparation of plans and coordinates the assigned work to meet the project schedules.
  • Requires knowledge of design and drafting techniques, understanding of engineering drawings, graphic arts, 2-D and 3-D CAD, review of fabrication drawings and reproduction methods used by the discipline.
  • Well versed with preparation of layouts, study drawings, detailed 2-D and 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) design models and construction drawings.
  • Prepares or assists with the preparation of assigned material requisitions and bid evaluations.
  • Monitors and checks work for compliance with approved design standards to provide quality design, reliable/safe plant operation and construction economy.
  • Coordinates or makes jobsite visits, as required, to resolve problems and interpret drawings and documents.
  • Knowledge of ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA (relevant to HVAC) and IPC .
  • Should have exposure to different aspects of building services including architectural and structural discipline.
  • Knowledge of the application of engineering and construction materials related to the discipline’s design responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, design criteria and codes relevant to the discipline.
  • Knowledge of procedures used for the procurement and quantity control of bulk materials applicable to the discipline.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from accredited university.
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience of working as designer in an engineering company in Revit design environment.

 

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Good knowledge of HVAC, Firefighting and Plumbing systems for commercial, industrial and public buildings. Work experience in Semiconductor industry, Metro Rail , Airport , Oil and Gas projects would be added advantage.
  • The Candidate will work as part of Global Bechtel team and should have basic flair for working with personnel of different nationalities.
  • Should have a good proficiency for spoken and written English language.
  • Basic skill in oral and written communication.
