- Developing strategies: Create, plan, and implement purchasing strategies
- Managing vendors: Work with suppliers, manufacturers, and internal departments
- Sourcing: Research and compare suppliers, goods, and services
- Negotiating: Negotiate deals and negotiate the best possible deals with suppliers
- Monitoring: Evaluate vendors based on quality, timeliness, and price
